Since purchasing the Oh She Glows cookbook in 2014, I have made the Perfect Kale Chips countless times. It’s such a nice crunchy, salty treat that solves my cravings while also keeping it (slightly) healthy.
1 bunch kale, stems removed and leaves torn
1 tablespoon (15 mL) extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon fine-grain sea salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
I like to use guacamole for dipping
1. Preheat the oven to 300F (150C). Line two large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Wash the kale leaves and dry them completely in a salad spinner.
2. Place the kale leaves in a large bowl and drizzle with the oil. Massage the oil into the kale with your hands until the leaves are thoroughly coated with the oil.
3. Place the kale in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and other spices or seasonings, if desired. Bake for 10 minutes, then rotate the pans and bake for 7 to 10 minutes more, until the leaves are crispy but not burned. Serve the kale chips with a side of guacamole.
