Wednesday was another overcast and eventually rainy day. It was our last full day in NYC and it had been jammed packed with stuff to do. We first hopped the subway and walked down to the High Line, a former railway area that has been converted into a beautiful green walkway among condos. It reminded me of a mixture of the Evergreen BrickWorks and Distillery District in Toronto. It was a refreshing walk and a beautiful walk.
After our walk through the High Line, we made our long journey out to Citi Field to watch a Mets/Braves game. I hadn’t been to a baseball game in years and we were excited to go. It was still overcast when we got there, and as the game went on, it became drizzly. We had amazing seats, third base line, sixth row. It was the first time I had witnessed four home runs in a game, but the end of the fifth inning, it was 8-0 Mets. Since the weather was getting worse and the score was so one-sided, we left in the mid-sixth and it is good too since that ended up being the final score of the game.
Last on our busy day was going to see The Book of Mormon on Broadway (Bucket List item checked off). I’ve seen the musical before but it had been three years. It was hilarious, I highly recommend anyone go see that musical wherever you are if it happens to be showing. Crazy thing: I saw Todrick Hall during intermission, I was too shocked to go and ask to take a picture, but it was pretty cool. Anyways, after the show, we walked through Times Square again, this time enjoying the lights in their best form. It was so packed I couldn’t believe it. Dad and I finished off by grabbing a pizza at Two Boots Pizza down the street from our hotel, it was so flipping good and a great way to end our long, final day in NYC.
